Signed contracts for a new role this week, which I believe to be the perfect recruitment story by Josh K at Blackbook Exec. Content in my original position, I told Josh K to try again in 3 months time. Which he did - 3 months later exactly. Now open to exploring new roles Josh K shared the ins & outs of a unique opportunity that perfectly aligns with my character, skills & future aspirations. The introductory call I had with Paddy has restored my faith in humanity. Whereas other recruiters have been deeply transactional, Paddy took the time to understand the human side and it puts Blackbook Executive Recruitment streets ahead.
As an example, in a different call (not Blackbook), the recruiter asked me how I would rate myself between HW and SW - i.e. was I 50/50, or 80/20 or ??? I understand he was trying to work out if I was more of a HW person or a SW person, but it was the wrong question.
Paddy, by comparison, took the time to understand the breadth of skills and didn't assume that being proficient in one domain meant I was deficient in another.
Come the time I am successful in securing my next opportunity, I will definitely have Blackbook Executive in mind should I need to find excellent talent.

I have been looking for the right role for quite a few months and got approached by Josh Kehoe about a role.
Never been the biggest fan of recruiters at times. My normal dealings with any recruiter has been
- Constantly chasing them for information
- They never understand the role they are recruiting for
- Know the history about the company
- Most importantly don't listen to what you are wanting in a job and sell you a job you aren't wanting.
When dealing with Josh he has been the opposite to the above. He has always had my best intentions in play, knew everything about the role he was recruiting for, could contact him anytime and was very personable.
I highly recommend his services and would 100% go through him again.
