Join an investing national food manufacturing business as a Safety Manager, providing safety insight across a complex manufacturing facility.

The Company

This is a leading FMCG business across ANZ who are renowned for career opportunities and supporting growth both locally and internationally. The business is now seeking a capable Safety Manager to lead safety across one of their main manufacturing sites in Perth, WA. 
  
The Role

Reporting to the Site Manager, your responsibilities will include: 

  • Ensuring the food manufacturing site has the correct policies, management systems, processes, and procedures to operate in full compliance with OH&S legislative and regulatory requirements. 
  • Building relationships at all levels across the site, initiating conversations about safety impacts and best practice; and is supported by the Safety for Everyone, Everyday program.
  • Provide expert advice, support and coaching to leaders and people (at all levels) to drive improved risk management practices, meet performance targets across the site(s), and maintain adherence to Group audit criteria, policies and procedures.
  • Coach individuals, groups and leaders on HSE policies and procedures as issues arise – increasing their confidence to execute their responsibilities.
  • Actively initiate dialogue at site to increase and enhance awareness of HSE issues, identify and proactively manage hazards and report incidents and investigate in a timely manner.
  • Collating and generating reports with HSE data to provide and share insights to drive positive change.

Your Background

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a HSE role within a manufacturing/operations environment will be highly regarded.
  • Ideally experience within FMCG or high risk manufacturing sectors.
  • Tertiary qualifications and/or significant experience in the application of contemporary OHS systems and policies.
  • The ability to influence others by clearly articulating benefits/rationale and understands need to flex style to engage different stakeholders.
  • Resilience and excellent communication skills to engage with stakeholders at all levels.
