This is a great opportunity to join an iconic Australian food manufacturing business, as their Factory Manager.

Our Client

Our client is a leading food manufacturing business who have a strong reputation for their high end quality products. To continue developing in this area and keep delivering great results they are looking for a Factory Manager to lead their key manufacturing facility, based in Minto, NSW. 
  
The Role

Reporting to the GM of Operations, you will be responsible for:

  • Support and lead an operation-based team across production, materials management, quality, safety, to achieve/exceed KPI’s and deliver on productivity targets and operational improvement.
  • Educate, coach and facilitate operational expectations, lead change initiatives through the team leaders and supervisors, deliver on all operational KPIs.
  • Develop and maintain operations systems, ensuring staff structures and labour plans are optimised and meet the needs of the business.
  • Develop and implement improvement plans for the operation, encompassing all functions on the business when necessary.
  • Lead and coach the team in operational improvements across Health and Safety, Quality, Engineering and Production functions.
  • Manage and report on metrics including financial performance.
  • Lead and coach on continuous improvement initiatives in conjunction with the leadership group, to reduce cost and waste, improve productivity and quality.
  • Investigate and develop solutions with the site leadership group for operational issues across the site.
  • Improve engagement and culture through leadership, training and being a good mentor for the team.

Your Background

To be successful in this role you will have the following experience:

  • Extensive operations leadership experience, responsible for leading large (60 plus) manufacturing teams in a short shelf life / food production environment. 
  • Proven experience in manufacturing transformation being responsible for delivering positive change.
  • A strong leadership background and skillset, with an ability to coach and develop team leaders/supervisors and operators to deliver excellent results.
  • Must have a stability of career and a high level of resilience.
  • Strong continuous improvement background with a good grasp of LEAN and problem-solving tools.
  • Collaborative in their style, inclusive in making decisions.
  • Strong communication, coaching, consultation and negotiation skills with an ability to engage and influence internal stakeholders.
  • Passionate about people and processes with a high energy approach.
  • Able to work autonomously
  • Good commercial acumen, able to understand and manage finances.
