Exciting strategic Quality leadership role

The Company

This food and beverage manufacturing business is an Australian success story, with innovative products and a strategy to grow internationally and locally, they are experiencing exceptional growth. Due to this and having reviewed their organisation structure to assess the technical product capability, it has resulted in the requirement for a GM Technical to ensure the business continues to meet the highest of standards across their product range.

The Role

Reporting to CEO, this role will lead all technical responsibilities as it continues to develop and implement its quality and product strategy across Australia. This is a key leadership position that will take responsibility for all aspects of quality, technical management and product development.

This includes:

  • Develop and implement the Quality strategy and plan with a clear focus on food safety and assurance. Ensure compliance with HACCP, SQF and all relevant regulatory standards.
  • Build and lead a team of Quality professionals. Foster a collaborative and innovative work environment, ensuring your team remains engaged and motivated.
  • Develop and lead a Customer-Centric quality culture across the business, managing customer audits, implementing sustainable changes and ensure successful outcomes.
  • Assess current quality processes, identify areas of improvement and implement changes to improve product quality, processes and systems, from suppliers through to customer.
  • Become a trusted advisor to the executive team by providing quality support and training to all areas of the business and help them to identify quality improvement projects.
  • Work closely with the customer to problem solve and implement sustainable to change in quality processes through the supply chain.
  • Responsible for the identification, framing and piloting of new business opportunities in all categories, in connection with global product development, and will functions such as Marketing & Business Development
  • Ensure an end-to-end innovation approach driving solutions from the concept to the shelves and customer. This will include meeting customers on a regular basis to deliver solutions

Your Background

  • Tertiary qualified in a relevant field such as Food Science, Chemistry, Microbiology or similar.
  • Significant technical management experience in a food and beverage manufacturing environment with a minimum of 7 years in a leadership role.
  • Experience working cross-functionally and at all levels of organisation.
  • Very strong quality management experience, leading all aspects of quality within a manufacturing environment.
  • Lead value optimisation process with products across the business. This can include re-engineering products, new processes and ingredient substitution, etc.
  • The successful candidate must be customer centric and be able to work in collaboration directly with the customer to develop product solutions
  • Must have experience working in a high speed, fast paced environment
