Logistics Manager (Dangerous Goods)

The Company

Our market leading client play a prominent role within oil and gas. They’re a business that have a solid footprint within the Australian market and continue to lead by example. Due to continued growth they’re looking to recruit an experienced Logistics Manager that has an expert knowledge managing complex logistics with dangerous goods.

 
The Role

Working within a large, complex organisation this roles responsibilities will focus around:

• Managing the businesses day-to-day operation ensuring the effective storage and delivery of highly complex goods.
• Managing and leading the companies logistics function, identifying areas of development and progression for the team.
• Overlook the businesses third party agreements for both storage and transport.
• Understand compliance in a dangerous goods environment and hold relevant parties accountable when not working within regulation.
• Work closely with other business units including commercial teams, manufacturing and the companies clients to ensure operational excellence.
• Be accountable for a high standard of health and safety across the business within this challenging environment.

Your Background

• 6 Years experience in logistics, ideally within dangerous goods and 3 years experience in a leadership role.
• Strong people leadership skills, with the ability to coach and lead in a complex environment.
• Strong experience managing freight carriers with a preference to have worked with Ammonium Nitrate (SSAN) previously.
• Ideally have worked within oil and gas or a mining equivalent.
