As the Plant Manager you will ensure the continuation of best in class systems and processes at this state of the art facility.
The Role
Reporting to the GM of Supply Chain & Operations, you will be responsible for:
- Effectively manage a medium sized oeprations team (circa 100 people), with a focus on continued development across people to build an engaged and highly capable manufacturing team.
- Drive a safety-first culture and promote staff to identify and implement OH&S improvements.
- Educate, coach, engage and develop your frontline leaders to effectively lead their teams to achieve/exceed KPI’s.
- Meet all targets across employee engagement, OEE, safety, quality and any other KPI’s on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis.
- Contribute to plant improvement initiatives through active leadership and implementation of LEAN and CI methodologies.
- Work cohesively with other business units including Engineering & Maintenance, Quality and Warehousing to develop and implement strategies to meet common goals across plant performances.
- Ensure all operational reports are reported accurately and in a timely and professional manner.
- Educate, coach and facilitate operational expectations, lead initiatives through the managers and supervisors.
- Develop and implement improvement plans for the plant, encompassing all functions on the business when necessary.
- Identify weaknesses and develop solutions in regards to staff and process.
Your Background
To be considered for this role you will have a background and experience in the following areas:
- Manufacturing leadership experience within a fast paced industrial or FMCG environment, with a good mechanical aptitude.
- A track record of being able to coach and develop managers and operators to deliver excellent results.
- Extensive experience collaborating with engineering, quality, continuous improvement and OH&S functions.
- Strong communication, coaching, consultation and negotiation skills with an ability to engage and influence internal stakeholders including senior management, line mangers as well as permanent and casual shop floor employees.
- Experience working with unions.
- Passionate about people and processes with a high energy approach.
