The Role

Reporting directly to the Director, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Leading and managing a medium-sized production team with a focus on continuous development, fostering a culture of growth across the site.
  • Promoting a safety-first environment and encouraging staff to identify and implement OH&S improvements.
  • Educating, coaching, and engaging your team to build a high-performing unit that consistently achieves and exceeds KPIs.
  • Meeting daily, weekly, and monthly targets related to employee engagement, OEE, safety, quality, and other KPIs as set by the Manufacturing Manager.
  • Actively contributing to plant improvement initiatives through leadership in LEAN and Continuous Improvement (CI) methodologies.
  • Reducing die change times and boosting production output.
  • Analyzing mould scrap/reject defects and implementing preventative measures.
  • Optimizing mould guide settings to achieve the best possible machine cycle times.

Your Background
To succeed in this role, you should have:

  • Extensive experience in setting up plastic injection moulding machines, along with strong knowledge of plastic blow moulding, plastic resins, additives, and moulds.
  • A solid background in production leadership, preferably within the plastics industry.
  • A proven track record in driving and monitoring key performance measures, with a focus on yield analysis, labour costs, and waste reduction.
  • Experience in implementing and tracking performance for quality, safety, and production teams, including setting and measuring team objectives and KPIs.
  • Strong communication, coaching, consultation, and negotiation skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.
