Senior Design Manager – HV & Renewable Infrastructure 

The Role:
This is a unique opportunity to lead the design function on a $150M signature renewable / HV infrastructure project.
You’ll take a strategic leadership role across the full design lifecycle—oversee the design direction, influencing key decisions, and ensuring delivery aligns with both technical and commercial objectives.

You will lead and develop Design Managers while fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities:

• Driving design strategy aligned to project and business objectives
• Establishing and maintaining design standards, systems, and governance
• Providing leadership during concept and feasibility phases
• Managing design changes with a focus on cost control and value optimisation
• Acting as the central interface between stakeholders, consultants, and delivery teams
• Ensuring consistent quality, compliance, and technical excellence across all outputs

About You

• 15+ years’ experience in power, utilities, or renewable energy
• 10+ years in design management across HV infrastructure with a familiarity of renewable energy 
• Strong exposure to substations, solar & BESS projects
• Experience navigating regulatory requirements and design standards
• Proven ability to lead within complex, multidisciplinary project environments
• Degree-qualified in Engineering (Electrical preferred)
