Position: Maintenance Fitter – Projects & Improvements

About the Role
A key part of your role will be leading to continuous improvement and reliability initiatives, identifying opportunities to reduce downtime and improve machine performance. You will also lead critical project work and equipment upgrades, with modifications, improvements, and practical engineering solutions on site. Working closely with production teams, you will help improve uptime and respond quickly to breakdowns to minimise disruption. This role is ideal for a proactive Maintenance Fitter who enjoys being hands-on but also takes pride in improving how equipment works over time.
Key Responsibilities
- Takes ownership of engineering / improvement projects
- maintains equipment (hands-on fitter work)
- Leads breakdown response and mechanical fault finding (when not leading Engineering Projects)
- Works with engineers, electricians, and production to implement changes
- Helps upgrade equipment and improve reliability
Your Background
- Certificate III in Engineering – Mechanical Trade
- Previous experience as a Maintenance Fitter within FMCG or industrial environments
- Strong knowledge of pneumatic and hydraulic systems
- Ability to work independently, take initiative, and see tasks through to completion
