The Company

This Australian leading organisation supplies operations and services to customers based in Australia and overseas. The business has carved out a substantial market share and has continued to grow by offering the highest quality service with a focus on customer service delivery and efficiency. As they set up for their next stage of growth, they have a need to recruit an Operations Manager to lead to assist their terminal operations for Victoria.

The Role

Reporting into the Terminal Manager, you will take ownership of day to day operational execution across the site, ensuring safety, service, compliance and productivity outcomes are consistently achieved.

You will play a key role in embedding operational standards, strengthening safety culture and leading frontline teams through a period of operational improvement and transformation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead daily terminal operations including shipping activities, tank management and loading/unloading operations.
  • Drive strong frontline safety leadership and ensure compliance with all operational and permit-to-work procedures.
  • Lead and coordinate shift teams through clear communication, planning and operational structure.
  • Manage operational disruptions, incidents and escalations in a calm and proactive manner.
  • Monitor operational performance, productivity and cost control across the site.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, service and operational efficiency.
  • Develop team capability through coaching, performance management, training and competency management.
  • Work closely with Maintenance, HSSEQ, HR and wider support functions to ensure operational alignment and compliance.

About You

  • Proven leadership experience within terminal operations, dangerous goods, fuel, chemicals, bulk liquids, shipping, logistics or industrial operations.
  • Strong understanding of safety leadership and operating within highly regulated environments.
  • Experience leading frontline operational teams in 24/7 or shift-based operations.
  • Strong operational planning, communication and problem-solving capability.
  • Ability to drive accountability, operational discipline and continuous improvement.
  • Comfortable managing fast-paced operational environments with multiple stakeholders.
