General Manager – Health, Safety & Chain of Responsibility
The Company
This organisation is a globally recognised manufacturer with a significant Australian footprint and an extensive network of manufacturing, distribution and supply chain operations.
This opportunity offers the chance to influence strategy at an enterprise level, partnering with senior executives to drive performance, capability and culture across a nationally significant manufacturing network.
The Role
This newly created, critical role will work directly with members of the executive leadership group, driving a high-performing safety culture, focusing on these key responsibilities:
Key responsibilities
- Lead and embed a proactive, enterprise-wide safety strategy
- Drive a strong safety culture from leadership through to frontline operations
- Provide executive oversight of Workers Compensation and wellbeing programs
- Own and govern the organisation’s Chain of Responsibility (CoR) framework
- Ensure compliance with health, safety and transport legislation
- Oversee incident management, investigations and continuous improvement initiatives
- Deliver meaningful reporting, insights and performance outcomes
- Build and lead a high-performing Health & Safety team
- Influence senior stakeholders across operations, supply chain and leadership
Your Background
You are a strategic safety leader with a strong operational mindset and the ability to influence at executive level.
To be successful in this position, you must have the following:
- Extensive experience in Health & Safety, including senior/executive leadership roles
- Experience operating within large scale manufacturing or high-risk environments across multiple sites.
- Demonstrated ability to set strategy and deliver measurable improvement
- Strong expertise in legislation, governance and risk management
- Proven ability to lead, influence and drive cultural change
