Lead a high-performing maintenance workshop by driving results, efficiency and shape a strong team culture.

The Company
An industry-leading agricultural organisation is seeking an experienced Workshop Manager to join the team based in Lake Powell. This is a critical role responsible for leading and supervising a team, ensuring effective allocation of workloads and smooth day-to-day workshop operations.

The Role

Reporting to the Maintenance Operations Manager your responsibilities will include:

  • Oversee job allocation, workflow, scheduling, and labour to ensure efficient day-to-day workshop operations.
  • Coordinate operational and resources to effectively manage all active jobs.
  • Ensure all required materials and supplies are ordered and available for each project.
  • Assist with quoting, project management, quality checks and purchasing.
  • Ensure accurate use of job numbers and time records are correct.
  • Provide job estimates to maintain accuracy and cost control.
  • Manage inward / outwards goods.
  • Provide regular progress updates on all jobs and communicate any delays, risks, manpower shortages, or overruns to the Maintenance Operations Manager.
  • Act as a technical advisor on key projects and provide expertise across the business as required.
  • Support the investigation and resolution of customer complaints in collaboration with the Maintenance Operations Manager and relevant team members.
  • Identify ongoing training needs and implement development opportunities to enhance team capability.
  • Promote and maintain a strong Health and Safety culture throughout the organisation.
  • Drive adherence to LEAN and 6S standards.

 
Your Background

  • Trade qualified Diesel Mechanic, Fitter or Boilermaker, or equivalent.
  • Extensive knowledge and hands-on experience in the development, maintenance, and implementation of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Strong background in managing and continuously improving risk assessment processes.
  • Proven experience in driving continuous improvement initiatives and overseeing the ongoing maintenance of workshop operations.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, direct, and manage teams in a structured and effective manner, ensuring clear expectations and accountability.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proven and consistent track record of success in a similar role.
