The Company
An industry-leading agricultural organisation is seeking an experienced Workshop Manager to join the team based in Lake Powell. This is a critical role responsible for leading and supervising a team, ensuring effective allocation of workloads and smooth day-to-day workshop operations.
The Role
Reporting to the Maintenance Operations Manager your responsibilities will include:
- Oversee job allocation, workflow, scheduling, and labour to ensure efficient day-to-day workshop operations.
- Coordinate operational and resources to effectively manage all active jobs.
- Ensure all required materials and supplies are ordered and available for each project.
- Assist with quoting, project management, quality checks and purchasing.
- Ensure accurate use of job numbers and time records are correct.
- Provide job estimates to maintain accuracy and cost control.
- Manage inward / outwards goods.
- Provide regular progress updates on all jobs and communicate any delays, risks, manpower shortages, or overruns to the Maintenance Operations Manager.
- Act as a technical advisor on key projects and provide expertise across the business as required.
- Support the investigation and resolution of customer complaints in collaboration with the Maintenance Operations Manager and relevant team members.
- Identify ongoing training needs and implement development opportunities to enhance team capability.
- Promote and maintain a strong Health and Safety culture throughout the organisation.
- Drive adherence to LEAN and 6S standards.
Your Background
- Trade qualified Diesel Mechanic, Fitter or Boilermaker, or equivalent.
- Extensive knowledge and hands-on experience in the development, maintenance, and implementation of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Strong background in managing and continuously improving risk assessment processes.
- Proven experience in driving continuous improvement initiatives and overseeing the ongoing maintenance of workshop operations.
- Demonstrated ability to lead, direct, and manage teams in a structured and effective manner, ensuring clear expectations and accountability.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proven and consistent track record of success in a similar role.
