The Role
Reporting to the Engineering Manager, and working closely with the wider engineering group, your responsibilities will include:

• Undertake Electrical Engineering design and assembly, including selection and evaluation of electrical components throughout all stages of design, purchasing, fabrication, testing, and installation
• Design of electrical systems and control cabinets using EPLAN Electric P8 and Solidworks 3D
• Develop complex systems such as DC servo systems, prepare/configure IO lists and BOM management.
• Working collectively with other technical disciplines, to complete designs according to client specifications and deal with external vendors/suppliers
• Responsible for project data and documentation management throughout life cycle of the project
• Preparation of O&M manuals and project deliverables.

 
Your Background
To be successful in this role, you will have a:

• Tertiary degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent work experience with automating machinery, (i.e., factory machinery, assembly, robots etc.).
• Strong demonstrated electrical engineering experience in the production of controls & power distribution systems for machinery, with involvement in the electrical design from concept through to completion.
• Experience in wiring design for machines, developing wiring schematics and design of safe systems/machinery using hazard analysis techniques (e.g. FMEA, HRA, AS4024, IEC 13849 etc.).
• Relevant software applications, notably CAE design programs, EPlan Electric P8, and SolidWorks 3D, PLC control systems as well as the Microsoft Office suite.
• Experience with a range of industrial motion equipment including electric and hydraulic servo design highly regarded
• Knowledge of battery powered mobile equipment, conduction of minor electrical fabrication and/or portable power systems, will be advantageous.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
