As the business continues to invest in operational excellence and future growth, an opportunity now exists for an experienced Environment, Quality & Safety Manager.

The Role

Reporting to the CEO, the Environment, Quality & Safety Manager will provide strategic leadership across Quality, Food Safety, Workplace Health & Safety and Environmental Compliance for a national multi-site operation. This is a highly visible leadership role responsible for driving an integrated EQS strategy that protects people, product integrity, brand reputation and regulatory compliance while supporting business growth and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the organisation’s integrated Environment, Quality & Safety strategy across multiple manufacturing and distribution sites.
• Maintain and continuously improve food safety and quality systems, ensuring compliance with HACCP, FSANZ, GFSI certification standards (SQF, BRCGS or equivalent) and major retailer requirements.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives that enhance product quality, operational performance and customer satisfaction.
• Lead workplace health and safety programs focused on proactive risk management, injury prevention and the development of a strong safety culture.
• Ensure compliance with environmental legislation, licensing obligations and sustainability initiatives across all operations.
• Develop and mentor a high-performing EQS team while building capability across the broader business.
• Partner with Operations, Supply Chain, Procurement and Product Development to embed quality, safety and environmental considerations into operational and strategic initiatives.
• Lead internal and external audit programs, regulatory engagement, incident management and business continuity planning.
• Provide meaningful reporting and insights to the Executive team, driving accountability through robust governance and performance metrics.

Your Background

To be considered for this opportunity, you will bring:

• Tertiary qualifications in Food Science, Food Technology, Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering or a related discipline.
• Significant leadership experience across Environment, Quality, Food Safety and/or Health & Safety within food manufacturing, processing, FMCG or a related manufacturing environment.
• Demonstrated success leading integrated management systems across multiple manufacturing or distribution sites.
• Strong knowledge of HACCP, FSANZ, GFSI certification standards (SQF, BRCGS or equivalent), WHS legislation and environmental compliance requirements.
• Exceptional stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence Executive leaders, operational teams and external regulatory bodies.
• Strong commercial acumen, balancing operational performance, compliance and business objectives.
