The Company

Our client is one of Australia’s most significant food manufacturing businesses, operating at national scale across multiple production and supply chain sites with revenues exceeding $1 billion. A household name in their category, they supply into major retail, foodservice, and export channels, and logistics is central to everything they do.

The business is in an active phase of investment with a focus on capital programs, automation, and systems transformation are all live and the logistics function is squarely in the frame. This is a business with the financial capacity and leadership commitment to do things properly.
 
The Role
 
Reporting to the Chief Operations Officer, the General Manager Logistics will hold full accountability for the end-to-end logistics function across the national network. This includes:

  • National logistics strategy, network design and operational execution across all sites
  • Inbound raw material flow, warehousing, inventory management and outbound finished goods distribution
  • Fleet management, 3PL partnerships and carrier network oversight
  • Cold chain and ambient logistics compliance and integrity
  • S&OP participation and demand-supply alignment with commercial and planning functions
  • Logistics technology roadmap including TMS, WMS and ERP integration
  • Large, geographically dispersed team of logistics professionals
  • Logistics capital expenditure and operating budget ownership
  • Continuous improvement and network optimisation programs
  • Full regulatory, food safety and WHS compliance across the logistics function

Your Background
 
To be considered for this role, you will bring: 

  • 15+ years in logistics or supply chain leadership, with at least 5 years at GM or senior executive level
  • Demonstrated success leading multisite logistics operations at scale in FMCG, food manufacturing, or a comparably complex environment
  • Deep expertise across transport, warehousing, cold chain, and 3PL management
  • Proven ability to drive cost efficiency and service performance simultaneously
  • Strong commercial acumen with experience partnering across sales, finance, and operations at executive level
  • An accomplished people leader with a track record of building high-performance culture across large, dispersed teams
  • Hands-on experience with major logistics technology platforms and digital transformation programs
  • Tertiary qualified in supply chain, logistics, engineering, or business, postgraduate qualifications highly regarded
