GM of DC Operations – Perth Relocation

The Company

Our client is a leading FMCG organisation, managing a large and complex operation across Australia and New Zealand. Due to continued growth, they are seeking to appoint a senior supply chain professional with deep expertise in logistics, inventory management, and transport within a high-volume environment.

The Role

With a national warehouse footprint, this role plays a critical part in ensuring the efficient delivery of products to customers. It also carries a strong strategic focus, including network planning and the execution of major transformation programs. Key responsibilities include:

• Providing functional leadership across all distribution centres and transport operations nationally.
• Overseeing logistics activities to ensure seamless movement of a diverse product range through to the end customer.
• Leading the development and transformation of a best-in-class supply chain, with emphasis on leadership, culture, operational efficiency, and cost management.
• Driving continuous improvement initiatives across all aspects of the supply chain.
• Ensuring effective workforce planning and labour optimisation.
• Enhancing customer service levels while delivering on the company’s broader strategic logistics objectives.
• Managing and delivering logistics transformation projects with a focus on digitisation, including systems and automation.
• Ensuring optimal performance and cost-effective service from freight providers.

Your Background

• Minimum 10 years’ experience managing complex supply chain operations, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership capacity.
• Strong knowledge of large-scale logistics operations with a proven ability to drive efficiencies and continuous improvement through effective leadership and digital innovation.
• Demonstrated success in leading both distribution centre and transport functions.
• Experience in a high-SKU environment within FMCG is highly desirable. A background in a Tier 1 FMCG or 3PL provider will be viewed favourably.
