The Company

Our client is a retail giant and provide an outstanding range of products to its customers. They’re a business that have continued to see success and growth year on year due innovation and acquisitions. Due to continued growth they’re looking to recruit a senior supply chain professional that has an expert knowledge of logistics, inventory management, procurement and transformation.

 
The Role

With warheousies nationally, this role is critical in delivering the products to consumers in the most efficient manner. It also has a strong strategic element, planning the future of their network as well as delivering major change programs. This includes:

• Function leadership of all distribution centres and transport across all locations.
• Lead all logistics activity in the movement of a diverse product range through to the customer.
• Responsible for the development and transformation of a best-in-class supply chain operations specifically focused on leadership and development of personnel, culture, efficiency and costs.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives across the network and through suppliers.
• Optimise customer service levels, ensuring they are met or exceeded, as well as leading and delivering on the company’s strategic logistics objectives nationally.
• Project manage and deliver on logistics transformation including a large focus on digitisation, both systems and automation.
• Effectively drive best in class service from freight providing in the best cost-effective manner.

 
Your Background

• 10 Years experience managing complex supply chain operations, 5 years in a leadership role.
• Solid understanding of multi-site warehouse operations and having the ability to drive efficiency’s and improvements by effective leadership and the use of digital technologies.
• Proven experience in leading the implementation of WMS or similar systems.
• Experience in a high SKU environment, large retail beneficial.
