The Company
Opportunity to join a well-established Australian food manufacturing business with a strong portfolio of much loved consumer brands. They have a collaborative site leadership team and a broader national HSE function. The business has a practical, values-led culture and is continuing to focus on improving safety, systems and operational performance across its manufacturing sites. This role offers the opportunity to work closely with site leadership and frontline teams to influence safety outcomes in a hands-on manufacturing environment.
The Role
This role will work closely with site leaders, team members and contractors to strengthen safety culture, improve systems and ensure compliance with company and regulatory requirements. You will also support injury management, early intervention and RTW processes, while contributing to broader site improvement initiatives.
Responsibilities include:
- Partner with site leaders, team members and contractors to drive a strong safety culture
- Support compliance with HSE systems, regulatory requirements and company standards
- Lead and support incident investigations, corrective actions and risk management activities
- Maintain and improve hazard reporting, risk registers and safety documentation
- Develop and implement annual safety improvement plans and training plans
- Support injury management, early intervention, workers compensation and return-to-work processes
- Lead or contribute to workplace inspections, audits and safety committee activity
- Support emergency response planning and site preparedness
- Oversee environmental requirements, including EPA licence and trade waste obligations where relevant
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives across safety, health and environmental performance
- Prepare HSE reports, metrics and updates for site and group stakeholders
- Influence and coach leaders to take ownership of safety outcomes
Your Background
In order to be successful in this role, you will:
- Several years experience in a site-based HSE role within food manufacturing, FMCG or a related manufacturing environment
- Strong knowledge of safety systems, risk management, incident investigation and corrective actions
- Experience supporting injury management, workers compensation and RTW
- Confidence working with leaders, frontline teams and contractors
- Strong reporting, documentation and stakeholder management skills
- A proactive approach to safety culture, coaching and continuous improvement
- A formal qualification in OHS or a related discipline
