Maintenance Electrician
Food Manufacturing Location: Melbourne, Campbellfield
Employment: Permanent, Full Time
Shifts: Day, Afternoon, and Night (Mon–Fri)
- Day: 6am–2pm — $52–$55/hr
- Afternoon: 2pm–10pm — +15% loading
- Night: 10pm–6am — +30% loading
Overtime: Weekly overtime available
About the Role A major food manufacturing business in Melbourne is seeking an experienced Maintenance Electrician to join its engineering team. The site operates high‑volume automated production lines where equipment reliability, food safety, and continuous improvement are essential. The role focuses on electrical fault finding, preventative maintenance, and supporting production teams to minimise downtime while maintaining strong safety and compliance standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform planned preventative maintenance on production and packaging machinery
- Diagnose and repair electrical faults to maintain maximum uptime
- Support PLC fault finding and carry out minor program adjustments
- Respond quickly to breakdowns to reduce production delays
- Ensure all work meets food safety, hygiene, and WHS requirements
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation
Requirements
- Current VIC A‑Grade Electrical Licence
- Experience as a Maintenance Electrician in a manufacturing environment (food industry experience advantageous)
- Strong electrical fault‑finding skills on automated production equipment
- Experience with PLC systems such as Siemens or Allen Bradley
- Solid understanding of WHS regulations in manufacturing
- Ability to work independently and within a team
- Flexibility to work rotating shifts
