Maintenance Fitter – Food Manufacturing
Location: Laverton, Melbourne VIC
Pay Rate: $63.25 per hour (inclusive of 15% afternoon shift loading)
The Role: 3pm-11pm Monday to Friday Afternoon Shift
Candidate: Must be happy to work afternoon shift and have Food/FMCG experience as a Fitter
Overtime: PLENTY OF OVERTIME AVAILABLE FOR THE PEOPLE THAT WANT IT

The Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Fitter to join a leading food manufacturing business based in Laverton. This is an excellent opportunity to work with an established manufacturer in a fast-paced production environment, supporting the reliability and performance of essential manufacturing equipment.

You will play a key role in preventative maintenance, breakdown response and continuous improvement, helping ensure production operates safely and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities

• Carry out preventative and reactive maintenance on production machinery and equipment.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical faults to minimise downtime.
• Respond to breakdowns and implement effective repairs.
• Complete mechanical repairs, overhauls and equipment adjustments.
• Identify opportunities to improve equipment reliability and plant performance.
• Work closely with production and engineering teams to maintain smooth operations.
• Follow all workplace health, safety and food manufacturing hygiene standards.

About You

• Trade-qualified Mechanical Fitter.
• Experience in industrial or food manufacturing environments.
• Strong mechanical fault-finding and troubleshooting skills.
• Experience with preventative maintenance and breakdown repairs.
• Ability to work autonomously and as part of a maintenance team.
• A proactive approach to safety, reliability and continuous improvement.
