Lead a highly skilled maintenance team, overseeing the maintenance and reliability of the site ensuring optimal equipment performance, minimizing downtime, and driving CI initiatives.

The Company

This manufacturing business has delivered excellent results through a strong focus on reducing cost through better processes and driving plant reliability. To continue developing in this area and keep delivering great results, they are now recruiting for a Maintenance Lead to join their site in South Brisbane. 

The role

Reporting into the Site Manager, your responsibilities will include;

  • Develop and implement the maintenance strategy across the site.
  • Lead and develop the maintenance strategies and team within the plant, ensuring KPI’s around; OEE, machine reliability, uptime, stoppages and OH&S are adhered to.
  • Developing the maintenance team in fault finding techniques, RCA, Fishbone Diagrams and other methodologies to facilitate a thorough and proactive maintenance culture.
  • Life cycle management of site asset base, obsolescence and capital upgrades. 
  • Conducting in depth machine analysis to properly detect and predict machine issues before they arise.

Your background

In order to be successful in this role, you will be:

  • A trade certificate in mechanical or electrical trades or related discipline, would be highly regarded.
  • Must have experience working within fast paced manufacturing sector, ideally within the FMCG space.
  • Extensive experience developing and implementing maintenance strategies to bring about a proactive and preventative maintenance culture.
  • Formal qualifications/training in Root Cause Analysis techniques, as well as CI methodologies, including; 5S, Lean and/or Six Sigma.
  • You will be a strong communicator, both verbal and written with excellent problem solving abilities.
