Lead equipment repairs and a seasonal team in a hands-on role with a well-established agribusiness, playing a key part during harvest.

Maintenance Team Leader

The Company

This well-established agribusiness is a leader in its specialised field, supplying both domestic and export markets. With strong systems, a commitment to safety, and a focus on sustainability, they are seeking a hands-on Maintenance Team Leader to play a key role on one of their flagship farms.

The Opportunity

Reporting directly to the Farm Manager, this role combines leadership with hands-on technical work. You’ll take ownership of the machinery workshop, ensuring equipment is maintained to the highest standard and operations run smoothly — especially during peak harvest (February–May).

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead day-to-day maintenance and servicing of a diverse fleet of farm machinery and equipment
  • Provide rapid response to breakdowns to keep harvest operations on track
  • Manage workshop budgets, inventory, and spare parts
  • Develop and enforce safety standards, SOPs, and JSAs
  • Oversee, mentor, and guide workshop staff, liaising with maintenance crews and contractors
  • Support seasonal planning to ensure uninterrupted farm operations

Machinery & Equipment

  • Tractors, ATVs, and specialist harvesting machinery (shakers, sweepers, pickup machines)
  • Sprayers, fertiliser spreaders, trailers, and bins
  • Chainsaws and essential small tools for day-to-day operations

About You

  • Trade-qualified mechanical background (agriculture, horticulture, or related industries preferred)
  • Experience managing workshop safety, SOPs, and JSAs
  • Strong organisational, problem-solving, and prioritisation skills
  • Financial confidence in managing budgets, stock, and reporting
  • Leadership skills — capable of motivating, mentoring, and guiding a small team

What’s on Offer

  • Base salary of $100,800 incl. super + fully maintained company vehicle
  • 10% annual bonus
  • Overtime paid during harvest (April–May)
  • Relocation support available for the right candidate
  • Long-term stability and career development within a respected agribusiness
