With strong commercial performance and a history of reinvesting in their operations, the business is now preparing for a significant new phase of investment beginning in 2026. This ongoing strategy of reinvestment and operational improvement has been central to their growth. As they continue to strengthen their position and deliver exceptional results, the company is now seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join their flagship manufacturing site, supporting both capital projects and reliability/maintenance initiatives.
The Role
Reporting into the National Engineering Manager, your responsibilities will include;
• Assist in the development and roll out of maintenance strategy, ensuring KPI’s around; OEE, machine reliability, uptime, stoppages and OH&S are adhered to.
• Developing the maintenance team in fault finding techniques, RCA, Fishbone Diagrams and other methodologies to facilitate a thorough and proactive maintenance culture.
• Manage capital works projects, ensuring completion within scope, on time, and on budget.
• Life cycle management of site asset base, obsolescence and capital upgrades.
• Oversee engineering planning, performance measurement, and alignment with production goals.
• Conducting in depth machine analysis to properly detect and predict machine issues before they arise.
• Lead, coach and deliver a high performance culture throughout the team.
Your Background
In order to be successful in this role, you will be:
• Degree qualified Mechanical Engineer – Required.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience working in heavy/industrial manufacturing and/or packaging industry.
• Strong knowledge of Project Management methodology and the ability manage, report on and execute complex capital projects.
• Extensive experience developing and implementing maintenance strategies to bring about a proactive and preventative maintenance culture.
• Formal qualifications/training in Root Cause Analysis techniques, as well as CI methodologies, including; 5S, Lean and/or Six Sigma.
• Exceptional oral and written communication skills, with the ability to liaise effectively at all organizational levels.
