Our client, a leading agricultural organisation are currently recruiting for an Operations Supervisor to join the team based in Mildura.
The Role
The Operations Supervisor supports the Operations Manager in the day-to-day operation of the Processing Field Services division. This includes overseeing stockpad operations, compost production, grinder and dryer operations, and associated field services activities. The role is responsible for supporting safe, efficient and compliant operations through the coordination of daily activities, supervision of employees and contractors, and providing leadership in the absence of the Operations Manager.
Reporting to the Operations Manager and responsibilities will be:
- Assist in the daily management of stockpad operations to ensure a safe, clean and efficient working environment.
- Ensure the safe storage and handling of hull materials to minimise contamination and fire risks.
- Coordinate daily machinery inspections, servicing requirements and pre-start checks.
- Coordinate daily compost production activities to meet annual production and delivery schedules.
- Maintain accurate production records and documentation.
- Identify and implement opportunities to improve production efficiency and product quality.
- Assist in coordinating grinder and dryer operations, including scheduling and resource allocation.
- Support grinding operations across processing sites and remote farm locations.
- Ensure the safe operation, maintenance and reliability of the grinder, T-Rex screen, Morbark grinder and associated equipment.
- Monitor operational expenditure against approved budgets.
- Assist in preparing operational reports, budget forecasts and expenditure analysis.
- Assist the Operations Manager with planning daily workloads and allocating resources.
- Coordinate contractors and labour hire personnel to meet operational requirements.
- Assist with employee onboarding, training and mentoring.
- Act in the Operations Manager role during planned or unplanned absences.
- Conduct pre-operational equipment inspections and report defects promptly.
Your background
In order to be successful in this role, you will be:
- Demonstrated leadership or supervisory experience within manufacturing, agriculture, processing or a similar operational environment.
- Strong organisational, communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage competing operational priorities.
- Sound computer literacy, including Microsoft Office and business systems such as JD Edwards (JDE) (desirable).
- Current Driver Licence.
- Front-End Loader Licence/Ticket (or willingness to obtain).
