Senior Project Manager – Renewable Energy 

An established and growing organisation within the renewable energy is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to take ownership of the delivery of major Utility-Scale BESS & HV Substation EPC projects across Australia.

This is a senior delivery role for an experienced project leader who understands what it takes to deliver complex Utility BESS & HV Substation EPC projects safely, commercially and predictably. You will lead multidisciplinary teams across engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, project controls, commercial, HSE and quality, while maintaining a strong focus on programme, cost, risk and client outcomes.
You must have strong and proven experience across multiple Utility-Scale BESS & HV Substation projects plus strong leadership leading other Project Managers previously. 

The Role: 

As Senior Project Manager, you will focus on delivering a large scale 120MW/480MWh BESS project within North West NSW. The current project will focus on connecting to an exisitng HV transmission network. 

What you will be responsible for: 

• Establish project execution plans, programmes, budgets, governance and reporting frameworks.
• Lead multidisciplinary teams across engineering, procurement, construction, grid connection, commissioning, HSE, quality and commercial.
• Own project financial performance, including budget, forecasting, cash flow, cost-to-complete, margin and variations.
• Manage the project programme, critical path, milestones, interfaces, constraints and recovery strategies.
• Coordinate key interfaces across civil works, electrical systems, HV/substation, BESS equipment, SCADA, protection, grid connection and commissioning.
• Manage contracts, variations, claims, extensions of time and commercial risks.
• Identify and proactively manage project risks, opportunities, technical issues and delivery constraints.
• Manage relationships with clients, network operators, consultants, contractors, OEMs and other stakeholders.
• Ensure compliance with HSE, quality, environmental, technical and regulatory requirements.
• Lead commissioning, energisation, performance testing and COD. 
• Drive project close-out, including defects, punch lists, documentation, warranties, handover and final accounts.

About You

You will be an experienced Senior Project Manager with a strong background delivering renewable energy Utility-Scale BESS & EPC projects!

You will ideally bring:

• Demonstrated experience delivering EPC projects through the full lifecycle from mobilisation to commissioning and handover.
• Project Management experience delivery BESS projects previously
• Strong EPC project delivery experience across engineering, procurement and construction.
• Proven commercial capability, including budgets, forecasting, cost control, variations, claims and margin management.
• Strong programme and project controls experience, including critical path management and recovery planning.
• Experience leading multidisciplinary project teams and managing multiple project interfaces.
• Strong subcontractor and supplier management capability.
• Excellent stakeholder and client management skills.
• A strong understanding of HSE, quality and environmental requirements within major projects.
• The ability to operate effectively in a high-pressure, fast-moving project environment.
