Software Discipline Lead / Software Architect – C++

The Company

Our Melbourne based client are an established organisation who develop automated robotic systems for mass production. They have partnered with a number of industry leading organisations in the industrial automation sector as they navigate unprecedented growth. This is not a remote role. 
  

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the software engineering team providing mentorship, performance management, and career development support.
• Own the architectural vision and technical direction ensuring code quality, system scalability, maintainability, and performance through rigorous engineering practices.
• Translate complex requirements into robust software architecture and system specifications while overseeing integration of internal modules and third-party components into cohesive systems.
• Lead development and execution of software verification and validation plans.
• Develop and maintain system-level and sub-system-level software architecture artefacts for the RDS, including interface definitions, data flows, and integration models.

 
 
 
Your Background/Experience

• Tertiary qualifications across Software Engineering or Computer Science.
• 10+ years of software development experience with C++, Rust or similar systems-level languages.
• Proven experience managing software teams with a strong business mindset.
• Proven experience designing and implementing distributed architectures.
• Strong understanding of software design patterns, data structures, and algorithms.
• High proficiency in Jira or similar tools for project tracking.
• Strong experience with containerisation tools (Docker) and orchestration platforms (Kubernetes).
