The Company
This leading food manufacturing business has delivered excellent results through a strong focus on reducing cost through better processes and driving plant reliability. To continue developing along this path they are seeking an experience Engineering Manager at their site in Melbourne.
The Role
Reporting to the Site Manager you will be responsible for:
- Strategic and tactical responsibility for implementing engineering strategy with strong focus on quality, cost and delivery, maximizing efficiency, optimising and driving engineering excellence.
- Responsible for maintenance and improvement of production lines, managing contractors and ensuring that Health, Safety and Environmental requirements are adhered to.
- Full budgetary responsibility for the department for both R&M and Capital spend.
- Implement and manage continuous improvement principals by highlighting deficiencies and recommending changes in training, working practices and processes
- Lead, coach and co-ordinate the activities of the maintenance team to drive a preventative maintenance culture to provide excellent levels of machine availability and supply of utilities.
- Implement a preventative maintenance culture and program utilizing predictive maintenance tools where appropriate.
Your Background
To be successful in this role you will have the following experience, traits and qualifications:
- Must be degree qualified in an Engineering discipline.
- Experience within manufacturing, ideally food, beverages or packaging.
- Excellent troubleshooting experience with the ability to understand, assess and work through and resolve maintenance issues.
- Proven experience in hands on Engineering leadership role.
- Experienced in maintenance planning with the ability to work with and understand CMMS systems.
- Strong communication, coaching, consultation and negotiation skills with an ability to engage and influence internal stakeholders including senior and line management and permanent and casual employees.
