Lead maintenance strategy and execution across multiple critical terminal assets, ensuring safe, reliable, and efficient operations within a complex industrial environment.
We are partnering with a leading industrial organisation to appoint an experienced Maintenance Superintendent to oversee maintenance operations across a portfolio of regional terminal facilities.
This is a key leadership role responsible for coordinating preventative and breakdown maintenance, managing asset reliability, and ensuring compliance with safety, regulatory, and operational standards across multiple sites.
The Role:
Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will:
- Plan, coordinate, and supervise all maintenance activities across multiple terminal sites
- Lead day-to-day execution of preventative, planned, and breakdown maintenance works
- Ensure all maintenance activities are delivered safely in line with permit systems, procedures, and regulatory requirements
- Manage and optimise the Computerised Maintenance Management System (MEX), including work orders, asset data, and maintenance history
- Review and action inspection reports across tanks, piping, rotating equipment, and hazardous areas
- Coordinate contractors and internal teams to deliver maintenance works effectively
- Develop maintenance schedules aligned to operational priorities and KPIs
- Manage spare parts inventory including identification and control of critical spares
- Support minor capital works including scoping, procurement, and supervision of installation activities
- Lead root cause analysis (RCA) activities to identify recurring issues and improve asset reliability
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives across maintenance systems and processes
- Maintain documentation and ensure compliance with quality standards and audit requirements
- Prepare reports and contribute to maintenance and operations planning meetings
- Ensure all works are completed in line with safety management systems including permits and risk assessments
About You:
We are seeking a proactive and hands-on maintenance leader who brings:
- Engineering degree or relevant technical qualification (preferred)
- 5–10+ years’ experience in heavy industry, terminals, oil & gas, or similar environments
- Strong background in preventative and breakdown maintenance within industrial operations
- Experience managing maintenance systems such as MEX or similar CMMS platforms
- Knowledge of relevant Australian and international standards (AS, API, ASME, ANSI)
- Strong understanding of safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements, particularly around hazardous materials
- Experience coordinating contractors and supervising maintenance activities on site
- Exposure to minor capital works and maintenance project delivery
- Strong problem-solving capability including root cause analysis
- Experience with risk assessments (SWMS/JSA), permits, and high-risk work activities
- Solid stakeholder engagement skills across operations, engineering, and external vendors
