Lead the quality function within a complex, high-value manufacturing environment where quality is integral to business success.

The Company

This organisation is a globally recognised Australian manufacturer, renowned for its innovation, engineering excellence and commitment to quality. The organisation develops complex, high-value products that support critical manufacturing industries across international markets. As a result of an internal promotion, they are looking to appoint a Senior Quality Manager to drive quality improvement across the sites.

The Role

This role will develop and lead the strategic plan for the quality function.  Key responsibilities include:

  • Provide strategic leadership to the quality function, fostering a culture of quality, accountability and continuous improvement across the organisation.
  • Partner with Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain and Operations to embed quality throughout the product life-cycle.
  • Drive robust problem-solving methodologies, root cause analysis and corrective and preventive actions to improve product quality and operational performance.
  • Oversee product quality, manufacturing quality and customer quality activities, ensuring issues are effectively managed and resolved.
  • Monitor and analyse quality performance metrics, identifying trends and implementing initiatives to improve capability, reliability and customer satisfaction.
  • Champion continuous improvement initiatives, applying Lean, Six Sigma and other quality methodologies to drive operational excellence.
  • Develop, mentor and lead the quality team, building capability, engagement and high performance.
  • Manage quality risks and ensure appropriate governance, documentation and change control processes are maintained.
  • Act as the key point of contact for quality-related customer concerns, driving timely resolution and strengthening customer confidence.

Your Background

To be considered for this role, you will bring:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Engineering or related degree.
  • 10+ years in Quality, Engineering or Operations leadership experience in a complex manufacturing environment.
  • A track record of implementing Lean, Six Sigma or similar continuous improvement initiatives that deliver measurable business outcomes.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence, collaborate and build trusted relationships across all levels of the organisation.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capability, with a pragmatic, solutions-focused approach to managing quality and business.
