Service Technician – Mechanical

A leading power systems provider is seeking an experienced Mechanical Service Technician to join their South Australian team. Supporting critical mining and industrial operations, this role offers a strong mix of workshop and field service work across maintenance, breakdowns, and generator deployment.

The Role
You’ll be responsible for servicing and maintaining diesel generators across both the workshop and customer sites. This includes planned maintenance, urgent breakdown response, and preparing equipment for rental and deployment.

Key Responsibilities

• Diagnose, service and repair diesel generators and power equipment
• Perform preventative maintenance and prepare units for hire
• Attend breakdowns and carry out fault finding across site-based equipment
• Assist with installation and commissioning of generator systems
• Ensure efficient turnaround of equipment for operational readiness
• Participate in a rotating on-call roster (1 week in 3)

About You

• Trade qualified Diesel / Heavy Vehicle Mechanic
• Strong hands-on experience with diesel engines and heavy equipment
• Ability to troubleshoot and work autonomously in field environments
• Forklift licence and driver’s licence (essential)
• Exposure to power generation equipment or Caterpillar systems highly regarded

Additional Details
