My client a well-established, Australian-owned leader in the meat/protein industry industry, who are seeking a commercially driven BDM/Trader with Mandarin Fluency to join their Melbourne-based team.
The business has built a strong reputation for quality, reliability, and deep market expertise, servicing customers across wholesale, foodservice, further processing, and independent retail channels both domestically and internationally.

About the Role:
This is a key position focused on driving sales and trading activity across multiple channels. You will be responsible for managing and growing customer relationships while actively trading meat products in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
The role offers a clear pathway into a trading manager position, with future responsibility for leading a junior trader and possibly a small team in the future as the business continues to expand.

Key Responsibilities:

• Drive sales and trading activity across:
  • Wholesale
  • Foodservice
  • Further processing
  • Independent supermarkets
• Build and maintain strong relationships with local customers in Victoria
• Identify and secure new business opportunities while growing existing accounts
• Manage pricing, negotiations, and margin optimisation
• Collaborate with internal teams to ensure smooth supply and delivery
• Monitor market trends, pricing movements, and competitor activity
• Contribute to broader commercial and growth strategies

About You:
To be successful in this role, you will have:

• Proven experience in selling Australian red meat within a trading environment
• Strong understanding of wholesale, foodservice, Manufacturing and independent retail supply chains
• Fluency in Mandarin and English (essential)
• Excellent negotiation and stakeholder management skills
• Strong commercial acumen with a focus on profitability and growth
• A proactive, self-motivated approach and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced setting
