12-month contract HSE Coordinator role on a major industrial project. Site-based, hands-on position supporting safety, audits and contractors.

The Company

Opportunity to join a major capital project within a leading industrial manufacturing organisation, supporting a large-scale construction programme as it moves into its next phase of delivery. The project is now entering a critical stage, involving a large contractor workforce and increased site activity. The team has built a positive safety culture to date and is now looking for an experienced HSE professional to provide additional support, coaching and guidance across the project.

The Role

This is a hands on contract role, supporting day-to-day construction activities across a complex, high-risk industrial site. You will act as a key safety partner to the project team, working across both internal and project frameworks to ensure alignment, compliance and consistent safety practices. Responsibilities include:

  • Support the implementation and ongoing improvement of the Project Safety Management Plan
  • Provide practical safety advice and coaching to project teams and contractors
  • Conduct site safety inductions and maintain training and competency records
  • Lead and manage audit schedules, site inspections and safety observations
  • Monitor and report on safety performance, including leading and lagging indicators
  • Coordinate incident reporting, investigations and corrective actions
  • Ensure contractor safety systems and practices meet project requirements
  • Maintain key registers including hazards, incidents and hazardous materials
  • Support safety meetings and contribute to ongoing risk management activities
  • Communicate changes in WHS legislation and ensure project compliance

Your Background

In order to be successful in this role, you will:

  • Experience in a construction, engineering or heavy industrial environment
  • Background in a HSE Coordinator, Manager or Advisor level role
  • Strong knowledge of WHS legislation and construction safety practices
  • Experience with audits, risk assessments, incident investigations and contractor management
  • Confident communicator who can engage, influence and coach site teams
  • Comfortable working in a hands-on, site-based role
